Location:
Located in Middlesex County on Mill Creek, just off the Chesapeake Bay in the heart of Deltaville, Virginia, the Museum and Park offer a unique opportunity to enjoy the "Boat Building " history of our area and the serenity of "river' life. Going east on #33, take a right onto #660 (Jackson Creek Road) across from the Deltaville Convenience Center. The museum is the second driveway on the left.
The Park is open daily during daylight hours. The Museum hours vary, call for exact times.
Our mission is to protect and enhance the natural beauty of the area designated Holly Point and make it available for the enjoyment of our citizens and visitors to Middlesex County. The nature park will include walking, birding and wildlife trails along which native plants will thrive and nesting sites be established. The museum will be devoted to the preservation of our County's vast maritime history and will provide educational experiences related to the maritime industry. Both the museum and the park will be a place to study, to learn, and also to relax and enjoy the tranquility of this area.
Founded in September of 2002, our goals are to develop a "Hands-on" Museum and Park, preserve our maritime history through exhibits and education, and provide a "gathering place" for boat nuts, nature lovers, history buffs, and kids of all ages.
The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park operates under the auspices of the Deltaville Community Association and is a private, non-profit 501C(3) organization.
